A young girl stepped out into the rain from the sliding door she had been standing in before, popping a candy bar into her mouth and chewing. A white robed figure stepped forward next to her and gave the girl a reproachful look. The girls gold eyes glanced up at the male figure with curiosity.

“What? Can’t a kid enjoy a few luxuries of modern life during a break?” She flicked a strand of dark brown hair with purple highlights out of her eyes and smiled at the figure teasingly. “Or do we all have to be stiffs like you…Michael?” The arch angel Michael’s eyebrow twitched at the disgustingly sweet smell of the chocolate.

“You are on a mission Ryu…we appear to you only because you are the most powerful medium on this planet. You have been ordered to find and destroy all demonic spirits that find their way here. Or have you forgotten why The Lord spared you from death at the hand of your father?” Ryu smiled up at Michael.

“Aww, but we all know you’re just a big softie at heart!” His impatient glared made her back down, putting her hands up in front of her in the classic sign of ‘calm down, I won’t harm you.’ Michael just snorted the cocked his head as if he heard something, his brilliant emerald green wings spreading before he took to the skies and disappeared as quickly as he ad appeared. Ryu snorted and took another bite of her candy bar.

“Coward…always runs off on me when ever the big wig calls. And I thought we were buddies!” She crushed the wrapper and munched down the rest of the bar before tossing the glittering ball into the nearest trash to the door. The ball bounced off her cats nose and landed in the basket. Ryu smiled as the poor little black cat with yellow green eyes yowled and ran off in the direction of her room.

“Sorry kitty…but you helped me get a hole in one.” The brunette walked into the room that she had claimed as hers in the condo her mother and herself had moved into after father was put on life in prison for the attempted murder of Ryu. She would have been dead too…if the arsehole Michael hadn’t decided to stick his oversized, yet some how still perfect nose into her business. Yeah, she was a powerful medium…in fact she was THE Best. Paranormal groups all over the world fought for her time, yet she spent the moust times with the ones in the USA…the big guys. She was ‘special.’ She was a medium, that specialized in Demonology. Oh yeah…THAT works well. Ryu snorted and rubbed a scar on her face form where a demon had shattered a clay bowel on her face. Now THAT was a job that required some MAJOR stitches. No, not those pansy-ass biodegradable stitches…no. She was talking about the old thin twine stitches, the kind that HURT LIKE THERE WAS NO TOMARROW!! Oh yeah, the fun ones. She had gotten her fair share of getting sewn up…now she was on another case. One that Gabriel, that pervert, had said felt VERY powerful and dangerous. Just what she wanted…not.

“Powerful my ass. It’s probably another one of those small fry. I hope I run into Loki one of these days…he’s said to be HAWT. And he was a nice guy until they tied him up with his sons innards.” She considered whether or not the gods of Norse myth had made their own demise. “I think I would flip and kill the people who had kill my son, banished m other kids and then tied me to a rock with my kids guts and let a snake drip poison on me face for eternity. “ She marveled at the deities’ stupidity, I mean really…they’re just like humans…only dumber. Ryu giggled and walked down the street, looking at the instructions on the paper in her hand.

“Winry street…winry street. Where is- OH!! I found it!” She did a little hop skip and started down the small, dirt side street in the downtown Louisiana.

“I hate dirt roads…the only thing they ever lead to is a Plantation…and plantations are ALWAYS bad news for me.” She grumbled to herself, her voice low and husky. It held the quality that it hadn’t been used very often. Seeing as most of her time had been online or in a library reading…that was a true factor. Death had really screwed with her plans. Now she had to interview people, listen to their whining, and TRY not give into the urge to just slam her note book closed and leave them after yelling ‘get used to it!’

“Life sucks…People need to learn to do things on their own. Why do I need to get involved…call a priest!” She sighed. “No, they call the people who can’t charge a dime before calling in the big pigs of the group.” She looked up at the old plantation ahead of her…it was a beautiful sight really; all covered in ivy and with enormous gardens and water features. It made Ryu want to puke at the flashyness of it all. She cracked her knuckles, laughing at the expense of the angel that had been sent by the old divine coot himself to make sure the brunette didn’t goof off. She looked at the angle and grinned cheekily.

“So…are YOU a female. All the angels I’ve met are male, how about you?” Arariel rolled his eyes and glared at the impudent child.

‘And this is why I didn’t try out for Gabriel’s job…you have to deal with humans.’ Ryu smirked in a fox way.

“And you just got paired up with a human who can read you mind: Congratulations!! You made and ass out of yourself.” Arariel just groaned and cursed his luck.

This is really cool, I love demon banishing telepathic sarcastic girls playing major roles in plots!

There should be an antagonist called Shinru, or Death Dragon! that would be irony there. Or Konkoku no Ryuu. I think it's no inbetween Konkoku and Ryuu, I'm not sure though.
